The Porcelain Veneer Process

Consultation

Before you can receive porcelain veneer treatment, you’ll have a consultation with one of our expert dentists, where they’ll thoroughly examine your mouth, review your medical history, and discuss sedation dentistry options and your oral health goals with you.

The information they gather during your consultation will allow them to determine if porcelain veneers are right for you.

Depending on the condition of your oral health, your dentist may recommend you undergo treatment for any existing oral health issues. Treating existing dental issues will not only boost your oral health, but it could also give your veneers a better foundation to adhere to.

Designing Your Veneers

Once it’s been decided that porcelain veneers are right for you, we’ll help you pick your desired shade of porcelain. We’ll thoroughly clean your teeth and your dentist will gently remove a small amount of enamel to ensure your veneers fit perfectly.

Then, we’ll take pictures and impressions of your teeth and send them to a dental laboratory, where they’ll be created. Your custom veneers will be ready in about two weeks.

Applying Your Veneers

Once your custom veneers are ready, you’ll come back for your final appointment. Your dentist will ensure the color and shape of your veneers are to your liking. Then, they’ll apply your veneers to the surfaces of your teeth using a special dental adhesive. You’ll be able to leave our Belvidere office that same day with a stunning new smile.
